WCLC COACH REQUIREMENTS
Step 1. Register with USA Lacrosse: COACH Membership
- This needs to be valid through May 31 of the current season
- Coaches need BRONZE level certification
- Coaches can Join or Renew USA Lacrosse Membership HERE
- Included in Bronze Certification
- Cleared Background Check
- Abuse Prevention Training
- Cardiac Care Training
- Concussion Training
- Cultural Competency
- Annual Rules Test
- This should take approximately 3.5 hours
Step 2. Register with the Wine Country Lacrosse Conference

- WCLC registration includes a Signed League and Club Code of Conduct (View HERE)
Each club will submit their coaches roster to the WCLC
All Coaches must be registered in steps 1 and 2
Coaches may be added at any point so long as they complete all requirements before participating in any league games.
ADDITIONAL COACH REQUIREMENTS
- California AB 506
- All employees and volunteers that work with children 16 hours per month or more are required by the CA Law AB 506 to get a live scan/fingerprinting, background check and California Mandated Reporter Training.
- Your Club must be registered with the CA DOJ and have a unique code for volunteers and employees to submit with their live scan application.

WCLC COACHES AND MANAGERS RESOURCES
Pre Game
Step 1.
(Required) Confirm Games
- Take a moment to confirm your games for the weekend!
- You or your coaches will cross reference with Arbiter, and The WCLC Playmetrics Schedule to ensure all games are correct. If there are errors please contact the league administrator (admin@winecountrylacrosse.com)
Please note: away out of conference games will need to be confirmed with the opposing team.
Step 2. (Only if needed) Need To Change A Game by the dates below
- Wednesday, February 19th, 2025 - Adds and changes for March are due (March schedule is locked after this)
- Wednesday, March 12th, 2025 - Adds and changes for April are due (April schedules is locked after this)
- Saturday, April 12th, 2025 - Adds and changes for May are due (May schedule is locked after this
Follow WCLC Game Change Instructions
If your club would like to make a change after the dates above, you must follow the post date process in the WCLC Game Change Instructions
Step 3. Weather Related Cancellations
RAINOUT PROTOCOL- If your game change or cancellation is due to a rainout or an unforeseen circumstance please contact the officials assigned to the game AND the visiting team 2 hours before travel time.
- Boys Rainout Protocol
- You must contact the officials assigned to the game. Their contact information is located in Arbiter attached to the game.
- Girls Rainout Protocol
- 48-12 hours before: contact assignor2@ncwlo.org
- 11-1 hour before contact assignor2@ncwlo.org AND the officials.
- Please note If you cancel 1 game at a site for field conditions the remaining games at that site get canceled as well.
Step 4. (Required) Ensure Volunteers are ready for each game:
- Scorekeeper
and timekeeper - provided by the designated HOME team per NFHS and USAL Youth Rule Books.
Step 5. (Required) Ensure materials are ready for each game:
- BOYS - Wine Country Score Sheet / GIRLS - Wine Country Score Sheet (provided by the designated HOME team)
- Wine Country Game Rules and Protocol Sheets(provided by the designated Home team)
- Boys Rules with modifications
- Girls Rules with modifications
- Spectator Code of ConductPlease make sure to share this with your families and communities
Step 6. (Required) Home/ HOST Team provides the following supplies:
- Horn or buzzer
- Score table
- Flip Scoreboard
- Timer
- Pens and pencils
- 2 Chairs
- NOCSAE Game balls (3-4)
- 2 goals
- 10-15 cones
- Portable crease if 8U/10U games

After each game, the home team will enter the scores of the game.
- The Wine Country Lacrosse Conference uses Playmetrics to track games and submit scores.
- You will first need to ensure you are in your Member or Team Admin role for your club
- Before your game, contact your club admin and ensure you are added as a Team Admin
Step 1 - Ensure your WCLC Scoresheet is signed by the referees
